I don't have that setting either - I have General Options though. But I'm BIS not BES ...
Thanks jimroe, I think this option is only for BIS&BES activations, so you can separate corporate than personal e-mails.
It's mentioned in the user Guide page 81.
Hide messages from specific email accounts from the main messages application
1.On the Home screen, click the Messages icon.
2.Press the Menu key.
3.Click Options.
4.Click Main Message List Settings.
5.In the Email Accounts section, select the check box beside one or more email accounts.
6.Press the Menu key.
7.Click Save
That options is present on some OS 5 builds, not all.
For instance, on the Storm, it was not present on .314, but is on .328
It is not present on the Storm2, .306 or .341
Here's an image of what it looks like, below: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/...v=mpbl-1&px=-1
Same as in the other forum:
t's a very useful and necesary function and it's also mentioned in the user Guide, why it's not in all platforms?
SHould I upgrade from .296 to .351 to get it?
I need to separate personal emails from messages icon.
thanks fro helping.
I think it's much more easier to do it with the missing option, still do not understand why it's only in some devices...
will try to update to the new version, if I check for new version thru the BB it says there's nothing to update... should I force it downloading the .351 from here?
Force? I don't know how to force an upgrade. It either upgrades or not, if you follow the instructions in the Sticky note.
I don't understand why it is in some OS releases, either. But maybe it's just one of those things that is above my level of understanding :(
Likely reason? RIM just doesn't yet have the right hand knowing what is happening with the left hand.
Thanks for your help JSanders!
by force I was trying to say that I must update "manually", because using Desktop update or wireless update there's no updates available... and I'm afraid making a mistake doing it manually...
will try and let you know. About RIM, it's mentioned in the USER GUIDE I've read from beggining to the very end, so this is why I do not understant it's not there...
Thanks
JR
If you are using an AT&T device unlocked with your carrier, then you won't be able to do the wireless upgrade anyway. It must be a device that is branded by your carrier, running an OS that your carrier releases.
Yes, you will have to reactivate on your BES once you upgrade.
Thank you all for help!. Finally I did the update and guess...
YES!!! The Main Message List Settings is there! I was worried bec' I didn't know if, when connecting the phone for updating should I pick Mass Storage... I didi that way.
