Unable to locate a bes 5.04 download link. Why does Blackberry make it so difficult to download it? Every link i find just sends me to bes 10 and I only find bes upgrader or service packs. I've obviously downloaded it before in the past and installed it a few times but i have to urgently reinstall bes at one site. If i can't find bes installer, i do wonder how i will find the transport tool. Any ideas where they have hidden it away? thanks!

Ok i find the transport tool quite easy, but can't locate the full installer.

When you first registered your BES, you got an email with the download link.This link is still valid.
It is not difficult to find the download if you had kept the (important) original license and download information.

Thanks for reply. I found an installer on a usb i had saved. Sorry, I only just found out that client uses bes express. I was told it was full bes and i was all the way up to the point of entering the CAL license key when I realized

So ive uninstalled full bes now and generated a new bes express order and busy installing bes express.

Do you know if I can use the bes transporter to go from bes express 5 to bes express 5?

Basically my colleague demoted a DC and it broke the BES and it was on an old physical box that wouldn't PTV so we were going to install new bes anyway. Only about 10 users on the bes. He tried fixing it by doing registry fix by removing the demoted dc and an even tried a new service account but couldn't get it working.

If the SQL database is still intact, why dont just install bes again ? Make sure, you give the bes server the same name as the previous one.

I dont know if you can use the transporter tool if the old server ist not running any more. Also, if you tried to install a full BES, dont know, what the installer might have done to your database ?

If you have a backup of the SQL database, make a restore of the most recent version, then install BES express, and point the installer to the database server. I think this would be the safest way.

It worked in the end, I installed new bes express on another server and then used the transporter tool to move the users to the new server, it worked fine.

Search for BES 5.0.4 express or bes 5 express on Google, you should be able to find the link in the first couple of results.

IF you read the thread you would see that:

a) i was initially looking for full bes
b) i actually needed express and didn't realize.
c) i am fully aware of how to get bes express
d) i have already requested a new bes express id
e) the big one, are you ready for it, i have already installed it and transported the users across as per my last post where i said that it is all done.

the problem was fixed already.

It doesnt help much to insult people, and it makes it even worse to continue insulting.

When you personally know someone, you also know about his sense of humor, and, you know, what level of ridiculing him is possible. But some anonymous forum member, you normally know nothing about him.
If you make the wrong guess, and, hit a weak spot, he might not understand that you only want to make fun, but take it personally.

If I would have posted this reply and got these answers I might have stopped posting here for the next 6 month. However if I got something like "you are right, but your language is wrong" I would have posted an excuse.
