Default Using Google's Email insted of Bes server

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all i have a bes server with 6 users. i am thinking of not using the bes server anymore and just let google do it threw its premiere service. i may not be getting it right but whats the pros and cons of using the Gmail interface on the BB and no more bes server.

No control or monitoring of users comes to mind. And you have a gmail address, not one associated with your company. Not a big deal for some, but it does covey a certain image to your customers.

you can use your companys email address with Gmail. i have my famils domain email address using gmail now and so far so good.

google apps account I think is what he is asking.

Major issues with it:
1) can't wipe remotely
2) contact & calendar sync is horrible

3)setting up a new blackberry to an existing client -> no push. IE users will only have access to mail sent to them since the configuration (not pre-existing) unless the user runs a search (can search the entire mail box remotely).

Tmobile doesn't auto prompt a user to download the gmail inbox (conversation/label app). (AT&T does)

Premium service allow for only 25mb max (free server is like 15mb) for the entire mail box. Local exchange/bes can be set far far higher.

PM if you want would prefer a direct conversation. I'm not a bes admin but I very up on the limitations versus gmail.

And I have both free/paid google apps sites(currently) and bes experience.
