Default Private Notes (like Palm OS)

Please Login to Remove!

I'm still using the Palm OS, on my Palm Centro.

I plan on getting the BlackBerry Torch next week.

Is there a way to make notes private, like the palm ?
I have certain notes, like bank book #'s, password protected.

Is there something similar with outlook/blackberry?

There is no native method for marking individual notes as "private" and hiding them like you do on your Palm. There may be a third-party app that gives you this functionality though.

BlackBerry has it's own app called "Password Keeper", good for all information you want to keep secure. These private notes will not show up in Outlook or anywhere else, remaining secure on your individual BlackBerry. Password Keeper even requires it's own password to access stored into. You can set it to be the same password as your general device password or something else if you prefer. And there is no way around this password. No "hack" or administrative trick to get past it. If you forget that password, you cannot access the data. Your only choice will be to wipe it and start again.

Thanks. I'm also just now working through the switch from Palm (old school T|X) to Blackberry, and have been finding it difficult to replace some of the functions and apps that I relied on a lot.

As someone who hated to give up his Palm last year and make the switch to Blackberry, I feel your pain. Still miss my Treo!

You may want to consider the new touchscreen Blackberry (9800 I think) introduced through AT&T.

Most people use Outlook to transfer this information. The switch device wizard may allow that to be done from a Palm, but I am not certain of that.

Yep, BlackBerry Desktop Manager > Switch Device Wizard will move over your memos, contacts, and calendar from (most) Palm devices to the BlackBerry.
