Default Help with manually changing networks

Please Login to Remove!

I just received a Bold 9000 from my work (replacing my Curve 8300 which blew up) and I am needing some help. I have traveled to Uganda Africa the last 2 years and was able to manually select a network on my Curve. In Uganda there are several networks to choose from and one I can use voice and another one I can send email. I am needing this option so I can stay in touch back home via email and voice.

I cannot even find this option on my Bold 9000 even though the booklet and google and the website all walk me through the process and say you can change the network manually. I do not have my international plan loaded on my BOLD yet as I leave in a month and do not want to be charged till right befoe I go. Did this the last 2 years as well.

So anyone know how to change networks manually on a BOLD 9000? Or will it not work till I set up the international plan?

Thanks

Your device is most likely locked on your carrier's network - and definitely is if it's from AT&T. You will need to contact them and get International service, but you will want to connect to the AT&T affiliate carrier when abroad and still may not be able to change networks. To do that you'd need to get the device unlocked.
