Ok well i do have WICD installed and i guess i was connected that one time that it worked. Its just that in WICD there is an option to show wired connections or not and i guess i had it checked to not show them but i checked it to show them now and it wont connect. I've been fiddling with it and now i dont know how to get it back to before to fix it.
this is what its telling me.

daniel@2ls49r:~$ sudo pppd call barry-sprint
[sudo] password for daniel:
Script /usr/sbin/chat -f /etc/chatscripts/barry-sprint.chat finished (pid 3693), status = 0x3
Connect script failed
Waiting for 1 child processes...
script /usr/sbin/pppob, pid 3692
sending SIGTERM to process 3692
daniel@2ls49r:~$

any idea?

If that happens again, try lsusb to see if your blackberry is in list. Sometimes it doesn't appear. Such is linux life. :P

If it doesn't appear, just click desktop then unplug and wait a short time, then plug your blackberry in again. Make sure it's unlocked at that time, and not in lock screen.
