My friend has an 8520 curve. She says that recently, she can't hear anyone when she answers the phone. She has to put them on speaker phone or have her headphones in to hear them.

Is she sure the volume is turned right up during the call? It can be changed with the volume keys on the side of the device.

Yes. They are right up.

Check the settings for call voice if it is not muted then it means something is wrong with the cell...You can get that repaired from market without much cost..

I work in a dusty environment and have been given 4 free BBs due to low phone volume. They never question me, I show them the phone, tell them I can't hear and they give me a new one.

Now I keep my phone in a sandwich bag. I can even talk on the phone while it's in the bag. It works very well.

Push the green button and then push the BB Menu button. Then choose general options and make sure default volume is set to 100% Also make sure "enhanced audio" is disabled.
