Default Help on planning and designing upgrades

Please Login to Remove!

Hey you experts

We are currently running Bes 4.1.7 enterprise with domino 8.5.1 in an ESX 3.5 SP6 environment. Os is win2k3 sp2 32 bits. We have 4 GB of ram, and 1vcpu(Domino doesnt work well with more than 1 vcpu).

Our goal is to upgrade to 5.0.3, and next install Fusion.

My concerns and question are

1st concerns, my server is fairly taxed right now, so I'm afraid that all the extra will be too much.

So.. my questions.

Is BES 5 supports beeing stand alone now? If so, I could uninstall Bes from our domino server and install it on a secondary server.

If it can't be stand alone, can it be split in two(some primary services on the main one, and seconday services on the secondaryone) so I can releive some of it's function from our main server?

I also read that fusion can be stand alone, so I could maybe do fusion + secondary services.

Thanks for your help, and if i'm not clear enough, feel free to ask!
