Default Viigo is bloody rubbish!!!

Please Login to Remove!

Sorry for the use of bloody there............but I downloaded it the other day and noticed there wasn't too many options or anything of interest on there.

I thought I'd keep in on my phone as the sports section, mainly the football (soccer) live scores and tables etc....

Anyway, my team (Chelsea) were playing today so thought I'd see how they were doing, went into 'Live Scores' and it stated that no games were being played today

Then I checked Final Results and it said Liverpool had won 5-0.......I just checked on BBC Sport and they actually won 4-0

Overall, not a great app at all, unistalling as we speak!!

Anyone else found any of the apps to be absolute rubbish?

Thats odd. I personally do not use Viigo for sports information. I usually go to ESPN instead. I've never had a problem with Viigo as far as the RSS feeds from various Blackberry / Mobile News sources. Sorry it isn't behaving well for you. Strange, because Viigo is regarded as one of the "must have apps" for BlackBerry devices...

Flashthunder, You are the first person that I have heard say that they don't like viigo. I find it to be an excellent application and I have over 30 feeds going and they are all getting me my information. I don't know about the sports feed, don't pull those down. And as for features and feeds, I personally think that it does have a lot of options.

May want to send them a bug report or something.. Usually Viigo is pretty reliable.

disclaimer: I work for Viigo.

I'm not sure what you are talking about, Chelsea won 4-3 with Bolton Wanderers Today!

I'm looking at the score right now in Viigo!

maybe you saw a cached screen, did you allow the app time to refresh?

Default Issue with Soccer Scores

Sorry you had issues today.

We have just checked the EPL scores and all currently look OK.

Note, our scores are fed to us live from our data provider, and the error you saw may have been a temporary keying error on their side. We'll investigate this.

All the best

Yes, Chelsea did win 4-3......at the time that they were playing I looked in the 'LIVE SCORES' channel and it stated that there were 'NO GAMES BEING PLAYED TODAY'

Which was obviously funny as there were several matches being played.

Then about 6pm I wanted to check the final results as I didn't know the Liverpool score (they were playing Aston Villa) and in stated they won 5-0........then later on when I was on my laptop and on the BBC Sports site I saw they won 4-0.

To cut it short, the only real channel I wanted Viigo for didn't have any of the info I wanted and when it did, it was wrong.....and yes I did wait for the app to refresh.

Hi Dawg,

May I ask what you use it for? I'm not being harsh on it for any reason or just being difficult but the news feeder (google reader) wouldn't work with it, the sports functions as I've stated before didn't work correctly and in the Entertainment channel it wouldn't locate the nearest cinemas to me.

The weather channel worked fine and working in finance I rather use the Bloomberg app then the stocks and shares one on Viigo so all in all the only thing I could use it for it the Weather.

I understand it's not rubbish as I said as it is the most downloaded app, it's just that everything I would have used it for didn't work correctly :(

Also I would add that once the Audio and Podcast function is available then I will almost certainly be downloaded it again (if it works)

I've got it installed, but I don't use it, because deleting news articles doesn't generally get rid of them. Half the time it pulls the same article over and over, even though I've already deleted it at least once. I don't want to keep reviewing the same pieces of news over and over.

Google Reader for me, until this issue gets fixed.

Sure, I use it for about 30 maybe 40 different feeds, I use it for my football updates both college and Pro football. I get my daily weather on it. But the best thing I like about it is the dependability. It works every time. Install, sync up with server and bam I am back in business. I get local and national news also.

Interesting I havent had that issue yet. So you delete, then refresh and the same article comes up?

Correct. I've had the same article come up 4 or 5 times. Some of them never show up again once I delete them, and some of them just will... not... die...

For example, one of my feeds is a blog in the Wall Street Journal. Yesterday, when I refreshed, I got every blog entry that I hadn't yet deleted from the last 2 weeks. So say there were 14 articles, and I kept 4... it pulled the other 10 that I had already deleted down again.

Also, in one of my tech feeds, there's an article about the new version of MS Office that was posted weeks ago that keeps showing up every time I refresh. Only that specific article. NO clue why, unless MS is paying them to refresh it. Bad idea if so b/c all it's doing is making me sick of it before I even get to use it.
