Default Case Needed For New 8830

Please Login to Remove!

I just bought the new 8830 (Verizon) and simply love it. I replaced an old 7250 and wow, what a difference. Can anyone please recommend a great case for it? I don't want to get the BB all scratched up. I don't like the leather case that comes with it and am looking for a case that doesn't have a belt clip as I like to slip it in a pocket.

Can anyone lead me in the right direction or tell me about one that they have and really like? I have seen the skins, clear hard plastic cases, etc. and am looking for a little help. I would really appreciate your thoughts.

The silicon skin that just protects the outside or the clear plastic hard case?

I use the silicon skin. You may want to check the "Hardware and Accessories" section for this.

I just picked up the Sedio hard plastic case and it has been fantastic. It is a two piece case that snaps over the BB and it is a rubberized hard plastic. It still allows me to use the blackberry case that came with the device, but it seems to protect it rather well.

Where do you hold it?

Will it fit in your pocket?

I think Fortte and Seidio are great vendors but I am trying the new Rex Regina case which appears to be very nice.

You might also want to pony up for the upcoming Otterbox 1933. It comes with a holster, but is not necessary to use it. By itself, the 1933 will provide scratch, light dropping, and water resistance. It also has a lifetime warranty. Otterbox makes good stuff.

I perused their site, but could not find this -- what sort of clip (or belt loop) do they use on this case?

I use a horizontal case made by Fortte--bought off their website--good quality leather-sleeper function--fits snug and seems to be one of the slimmest horizontal cases I have seen. Very nice if you want a horizontal. Belt clip is stitched into leather so very little protrusion.

Default Sena!

I am on my fourth Sena case. Had one for the 7280, 8700, and now using it for the 8800. I also have one for my iPod.

Nice leather, very thin, I love the magnetic closure on the flap so I can manage it with one hand (always hated having to hold the empty case with one hand while I did something on the BB).

And they are available with or without a belt clip (mine have had no clip).

A premium price but well worth it.

I prefer the krusell line of cases for the 8800. The case that I have is the classic multidapt (Krusell 89252 Classic Multidapt Case with SpringClip for Blackberry 8800 at MobileCityOnline.com)

Also, I have an extended battery and this case fits that and keeps your keyboard safe. Your investment stays well protected in this one!!!

Can't believe no one has mentioned Vaja cases (vajacases.com). I thought they were the standard for the nicest (and most expensive cases) around for any mobile or pda. i took a look at the sena cases website and their product seems remarkably similar to vaja. i wonder if they're actually the same product.

i bought a vaja (black premium leather with no belt clip attachment) and it took about 4 weeks to get it made and sent to me. the quality/fit/stitching is really amazing. I actually dont use the case since i ended up liking the BB better without, but it really is a nicely made case if you dont mind paying a premium.

I used a Piel Frama for my 7250 and liked it a lot so I got one for my 8830. Spendy, but very high quality. It's also got a little plug so you can completely eliminate the belt clip if you want. I care mine in my pocket like a wallet. Great cases.

Is the Sedio case easy to remove once it is on the phone?
