Default yahoo app dropping mail in bes folder

Please Login to Remove!

This may be old to some but I cant pull a good search on it.

We are allowing users to go to

ttp://mobile.yahoo.com/blackberry/mail

to get the yahoo app on their blackberries. However what we have noticed is that in addition to getting the yahoo app that display email it is also setting up a yahoo email account in their Blackberry setup\personal email setup which is causing yahoo email to go into the BES folder with exchange email on the device.

Anyone know why this is happening or how to just get the yahoo app as email shows in the yahoo app and in the bes account. When you go into the Blackberry setup\personal email setup area to delete the yahoo account it also deletes the yahoo app/link on the blackberry

thanks

Welcome to the forums.

It's not the BES folder it's the Messages folder. The Messages folder acts as a catch all. It will show all mail from any account as well as call logs and SMS messages (except if separated in the Options menu).

Empower can separate them and there is a setting on the BES you could make that would impact all users. Your BES needs to be at least 4.1.5

thanks for the clarification, I assumed it was the BES folders as when you add the gmail app, gmail doesn't behave like that. Gmail stays in the Gmail app and enterprise email stays in the message folder. So it sounds like that gmail just does a better job at separating email or gmail is just a web link that somehow pushes email and notifies you through http. Id be nice if yahoo acted like that.

thanks

Yes, the Gmail app does a nice job. If you add any account via the BIS site, it will also show in the Messages folder.
