Usually one full charge will get me through the day, but there are times when I need to swap my battery during the day with the spare that I carry with me.

I turn the phone off, swap the battery, and it takes 15+ minutes to come back on. The phone seems to be doing the same thing that it does when I do a powered-on battery pull.

If I turn it off and back on without changing the battery, it comes right back on within a few seconds.

Does anyone know of a way to make the reboot after a battery change faster?

Nope.
Its rebooting.
Turning the device off and back on, is more like "deep sleep".
Unless the battery is removed, theres always power to the device.
Hence why it turns on so quickly, but from a battery pull it takes so long.

Waking a PC from sleep is quicker than it booting up.
Same type of thing for the blackberry.
It will take as long as it needs to boot up from a battery pull.

That was the answer I was afraid I was going to get. I never had this issue with ealier models, such as the 8530.

You never had as much memory on earlier devices either. Are you connected to a BES? BES policies such as memory cleaning can make the reboot time quite long -- mine runs about 10 minutes.

Agree, mine seems to take 10 minutes or more to boot.
Very annoying.

That makes a lot of sense. I keep all messages on my Blackberry and never let it purge them.

Mine is on a BES and since I updated the software it now only takes 3 1/2 minutes after battery pull, I was pretty impressed.
