Post BEIKS announces major update to its dictionary series for BlackBerry

DALLAS (July 14, 2010) - - BEIKS LLC, the world leader in language and reference applications for mobile devices, announces immediate availability of a major update to all titles in its dictionary and reference series for BlackBerry® smart phones.

BEIKS Dictionary Reader for BlackBerry, the foundation of the BEIKS' dictionary and reference line of applications, has gotten a major overhaul with plenty of new features and interface and functionality enhancements.

Powering a large set of language, professional, Christian, medical, scientific and other dictionaries and references, BEIKS Dictionary Reader was among the first reference applications made available on the BlackBerry platform back in 2002 and certainly the first completely offline multi-language dictionary for BlackBerry.

Today, hundreds of thousands of users in over 90 countries make daily use of the application, making it possibly the most popular BlackBerry offline reference application in the world.

The new version introduces long demanded features such as split screen views, manual editions and extensions of the dictionary database, cross-lookup among installed dictionaries, searches from external applications and many more.

Completely new is the support for talking dictionaries, allowing words and even sentences to be pronounced by native language speakers.

All this is still completely offline and therefore available anytime, anywhere, without the need of wireless coverage, except possibly (but not necessarily!) when the application is first installed.

One caveat to using the new dictionaries is that users must un-install all older versions on the device before installing any the ones.

"As we hoped and as internal focus groups confirmed, this major update brings most value to two distinct user groups - frequent dictionary users such as doctors, attorneys, translators and other profressional workers, and the langauge students. The interface and lookup improvements save great deal of time on a daily basis and the vocal pronunciation by native language speaker can often make the difference between seeing and memorizing." , said Bobby Kolev, president of BEIKS LLC.

Along with the release of talking dictionaries for English, French, German, Spanish and Italian languages, with this new version of BEIKS Dictionary Reader BEIKS has also finally released its popular Linguist dictionary bundle, offering a set of 21 language dictionaries for one significantly discounted price of only $69.00!

To promote this new offering BEIKS is having a limited time discount that offers the Linguist dictionary bundle for only $35.00 until the end of July 2010! For details see http://blackberry.beiks.com/showprod.asp?prodid=1123.

All BEIKS offerings are one-time license payments and not subscriptions. Occasional upgrade charges for application upgrades may happen, but those have been extremely rare and always optional.

Like most of its predecessors, the current update comes at no additional cost to all current customers on file.

To download the update registered users can simply go to the according product page in the BlackBerry section at the BEIKS website, or log-in to the customers area of the site at http://www.beiks.com/mystuff/.
