Yes I have seen that. Tested it out, when someone leaves a voicemail for a second the VM icon shows and then disappears. Downgraded back to 216 and no problems. Thinking it might be related to Visual Voicemail and the fact it isn't provisioned.

For mine with Voicemail, I get a prompt now telling me with option of Ok, or Save. If I click Ok, it removes the Voicemail text message from my inbox. If I click Save, it keeps the message. I haven't notice it affecting the little icon on the top though. Related....?

Default Vlingo No-go with 4.6.0.228

So far so good with .228, but then I tried to reinstal Vlingo and it won't launch. I get some API error. Also, I see the same Slingo displacement of video/vocal.

.228 solved all the WI-FI issues I have had with every version higher than .190. WI-FI indicator would go "dark." Also gave me more memory. Looking good so far.

The switching between 3G and EDGE--is that a good thing or bad??? Which did you have before, and which do you prefer?

There are reports about a 70 character limitation in the SMS, normal being 160, I believe. Is that related to the OS or to the carrier? Is that true, even after a battery-pull reboot?

Overall, what is the recommendation about an upgrade from 210-216 to 228?

Wirelessly posted

There were some internal private updates to the Sling software. I wonder if those users have tried it with 228 yet and what they report?

I think I'm running the latest slingplayer 5.0.3 and the voice and video didn't match up on .228.

How and why would there be something later internally when we are all using a beta in the first place? If there was a newer beta than I would imagine that sling would have us update to the latest beta.

This is how software development works. There will always be numerous internal versions/branches that the public will never see. Even the term "Beta" is somewhat relative, as internally a particular version/branch needs to be deemed stable enough to be released as a beta.

Sling has been running a private beta program alongside their public beta program. There are newer private beta revisions than what the public has access to.

I know I posted glowing reports with my .228 experience...but virtually overnight it started causing issues...

-Wallpaper resetting to default on all themes following reboot
-"White Screen Of Death" when Bold is removed from holster
-Trackball scroller freezing...then jumping from icon to icon on homescreen
-Three random reboots yesterday...one just sitting on my desk at work!!

Weirdness...

Sooooo...went back to .216 last night, and will probably stay until the next "official" release comes. Oh well...
