Razr Charger

Does anyone know if a Razr charger is the same voltage as the 8700c? I have searched and searched...I found one place on the web that said all phones with that little usb are the same...I just want to be sure. TIA

If it is a USB plug (which it is), it is the same. USB is USB...period (5V) - the only difference is the RAZR charger is .55 amps and the BB is .72amps - all this means is the battery will charge slower on the RAZR charger.

Thank you! So it would be a slower "trickle" charge...
Thank you again

not really a trickle charge, but just take 1.25 hours instead of an hour, for instance.

No, the RAZR requires a special circuit to activate charge mode. The same reason you cannot plug a RAZR into a USB port and charge.

Hmm... I have used a standard USB cable to charge my wife's RAZR many times.

Not the cable - the wall charger. I have several devices that all charge off of a PC/USB cable, but pipermailbu is 100% correct. The wall chargers are different.

A little off topic, but I plugged my Zen Vision M 30GB into the same usb cable I use for my BB 7100i last night on my PC. The unit immediately went blank and is now lifeless. Has anyone encountered something like this using different USB cables from other devices? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've got an 8700c and a razr. The Blackberry chargers (USB, Car or wall) will not charge the razr. At least, when I plug it in, it doesn't say "battery charging."

Uhh, well, maybe not 100% correct, since he also said you can't plug a RAZR into a USB port/cable and charge, and I've done that with no problems, as have others who said so here.

both the razr and the BB need the desktop tools/manager installed to charge a fone correctly. The PC/Laptop needs to be on and obviously connected ;)
I charge both my 7100v and Razr V3i with no probs off my laptop both at the same time

If you want to charge a RAZR with your USB sync cable, get the driver here
