well Lecter, you have a point. But what would be the point of commenting while no one has experienced the new OS yet? Here's what I picked up from crackberry:

No reports of whats new and exciting, so if you give this a go be sure to drop a comment and let us know.
I guess RIM has an odd way to bring in new updates...

The platform is 5.2.0.57 -- same as App: 5.0.0.554, so if you have anything 554+ then it will most likely not let you upgrade. Is that true?

Okay, I've been on .610 for an hour or two. There is more memory on boot (25MB instead of 22MB for .554). Noting significant to report.

I had abandoned .592 because of memory and battery problems. Memory seems better. Will know about the battery by tomorrow.

Keeps freezing when trying to open apps and Shazam doesn't work on this OS either. Going back to 509....

No, not true. You can upgrade app versions on the same platform.

.592 is a pig. It is the worst build I have run in my years of blackberry experience.

Downloading 610 now, hope this one is better.

Well, the battery life isn't any better than .554.

What is it in 5.0.0.X that uses up so much battery? I could go all day with no worries on 4.6 - on the 5.0 builds I have to charge in the middle of the day.

RIM, if you're listening (and I think the "leaks" are just the informal RIM Beta Program), battery life is unacceptable on the 5.0.0.X builds.

Default experience on 9000

same problem with app world icon disappeared after the upgrade ... even though it shows on the application list.
boot time seems to be a bit faster on the first screen (white progress bar)... but there is a big lag after the bar reaches the end ... so the whole process still takes forever.

memory seems to be a bit better ... but there are still memory leaks ... just not as bad as .592

had to manually get ride of visual voice mail stuff like in .592

also, this does not contain asian languages, so I have to copy a bunch of files from .592 to get the language support I needed.

Memory much better now... free went up from 24MB to 29MB -- after reboot. Battery still drains crazy!
