My co-worker got her B310 from work (BES). she wanted to upgrade her DM so I sent the link for v4.2 sp2. Anyhow she tried installing it - checked BES but at the end of the install got some funky permission error. So she tried the BIS install instead and got the same. She already had an older version of DM installed so we left it and set it up so her MS Outlook was sync'd. At no point in time did we reboot her PC.

This morning she PIMs and says she cannot recieve or send emails. Could this be because of DM getting corrupted? or this the company BIS server, or another issue. We did leave the original version of DM on her laptop.

The settings got messed up for DM and now the encryption key needs to be reset. Connecting a BES connected BB to an incorrectly installed DM will bring email to a halt. Your co-worker should contact IT to get the BB reactivated on the BES. Then don't connect the BB until IT assists her in setting up DM.
