I'm using BES 4.0 for Domino and I'm trying to change a users forgotten password. I have used the set password and lock handheld but this requires the user to input there old password to recieve the new one.

Yes happens if you have content protection enabled. The content gets encrypted with the password. In order to decrypt the content the device needs the old password...

are your sure about the content protection. we have used 'the look handheld and set password' option too, it works fine with the exception of users who have the content protection enabled.

Hi Joseph

Look in Options icon then Security setting and Content Protection is the 4th option down. Here you can enable/disable

yeah i figured it out but what i dont understand is that it didnt used to be like this...

And this will really hurt us because we have alot of users that travel over seas and if we have to wipe their handheld they will lose all their addresses and stuff..

I really need to figure out what happened...

Could updating to service pack 3 hotfix 4 caused this?
