Question Notification icon mystery (circle with number next to it)

Please Login to Remove!

A co-worker has a small circle with the number 1 next to it show up in the notification area of her 7520 a couple of weeks ago--you know, the area where you are told how many messages you have waiting to read, how many voice mails, if you've got an IM to reply to, a Calendar alarm, etc.

Anyone have idea what this could be? She didn't seem to have any unusual applications installed, outside of a few games I don't have.

I spent about 20 minutes searching through the online user guides with no luck. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Blackberry messenger maybe? Mine looks like a yellow circle with a number next to it.

This sounds like the push data icon. If you don't have an entry in your inbox, check your browser to see if the data appears there.

One thing I've noticed with "mystery icons with #'s beside them appearing" is if you hook up your BB to the Desktop Manager program, go to "Backup/Restore", click "Advanced" and on the right side clear any type of item from the device (assuming you have everything backed up), then most of the time those icons with #'s beside them go away.

I've had people call in to me telling me they have old voicemail/email/text message icons appearing with #'s beside them and after doing the steps described above, the icons disappeared. Try that and see if that helps
