There must be 100 threads asking about unlocking a BlackBerry.

Unless your carrier is T-Mobile (and I don't think they sold the 7210), you will have difficulty getting a carrier to unlock it. There are no programs to generate the unlock code, which is unique to a BlackBerry.

Today, the only way to get a BB unlocked is to send it to Bongo Wireless, along with $100.

Because a loader, cable and flashing the device is required, thats why.

For the last time there is no alternative at the moment.

Now I will admit that I agree with what everyone else said....Cingular claimed that they don't have unlock codes for AT&T equipment, and when I spoke with someone who dealt with AT&T issues, she stated that the BB and the way it was config'd would not work on Cingular, since it was different. In other words, feeding me a line of BS!!!!!

I just got my 7210 that was locked to AT&T unlocked this morning, thanks to BernieB....

I'm so happy, I don't know what to do today!!!!!

Dude... why do you gotta be like that? I have a Rogers 7290. I will pay you $1000 to send me an unlock code... on one condition... you get it legitimately. Not because you work for RIM or a carrier, but because you have developed some way to determine the unlock code.

cd.

Actually, even RIM employees can't get them...unless maybe you are some sort of higher up, and in which case why would you?

So the only way would be to work for a carrier. And since BernieB can only do AT&T BlackBerry codes, I wonder where he works?

Sorry guys, I didn't mean to stirr up any trouble. It can be done without working for RIM or a carrier. I'm just going to drop it all.

And for the record, I could have provided more than just AT&T. It's just that AT&T will not give them out so it would have been the best way to prove it.

Hi bernie. As many others I have the problem. My blackberry was given to me by a company serviced by at&t. Now migration with cingular does not allow me to use my blackberry 7210. I have also a cingular account but operators refused to unlock it. Is someone out there that can do it? I do not mind paying a fee but $100 is a little too much for me. I do not find it right to pay so much for something was legally owned and operated.
Please help me. Thank You in advance.

BernieB--I need help! I, like some others on this forum purchased an AT&T Blackberry 7210, for what I thought was a great price. Needless to say, we have searched everywhere in town to get it unlocked, but no way will AT&T allow anyone the codes or whatever to unlock it. I found Bongo's site, as well as one that will remote unlock for $129.00. Can you help me???

I have a brand new AT&T 6280 and have done everything; called Cingular, posted on Craigslist, searched google, etc. I've gotten every excuse in the world why I can't unlock it. All different. Any help would be appreciated!
