Default Changed BES IP and now Mail is down

Please Login to Remove!

We changed the IP address of our BES (and Exchange 2010 server for that matter), and now we can't send or receive email on the remote devices. We were able to receive mail earlier, and send from within the domain, but were unable to send outside of the domain. Restarted all services but no dice. Restarted the entire server and now all mail on the devices is down. Can't find any hard coded IP or hostname entries on the BES, and made sure DNS was up and running. Any suggestions?

Did you speak with your Firewall Administrators to make sure the Port 3101 is open from your BES to RIM (with the NEW IP address of your BES)?

Yes, 3101 is open. Email was working prior to today at 1:18PM EST. The switchover was done on Sunday around 10PM. The sending and receiving became an issue after restart, while sending out of the domain was an issue from 1:18 up until the restart.

SRP Connection looking OK? RIM has been known to shut down a connection if it sees more than one IP address.

I checked the "BlackBerry Router" tab and clicked on "Test Network Connection" and everything passed fine. How would I be able to enable or check on my SRP connection status, to see if RIM blocked/locked our SRP ID? I really appreciate you're help in this.

Do you have Sprint devices on the BES as well? If so I can help you.

We resolved the issue, it turns out that when we did our initial switch from Exchange 2003, to Exchange 2010, we never updated the MAPI settings and the BES has been running on fumes and luck. Once we changed the IP's, it couldn't look to the old Exchange server anymore for MAPI support so it locked up (Starting with Exchange 2007, MS removed MAPI support out of the box and now it needs to be installed separately). We installed the MAPI support from Microsoft (I tried to post the link to it but I don't have 15 posts yet). Updated the MAPI settings and restarted the BES and everything is fine now. Thanks for all the help.

You went from Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2010 and didn't know that? If only there was documentation on that...

Sorry - I know that's mean but you're making it sound like a revelation and it really, really, really, shouldn't be.
