Default How to get data off an ancient Blackberry?

Please Login to Remove!

So we have an old Blackberry 8330 (Curve) that has a bunch of things in the Memos area. This phone hasn't been active in years but apparently there is still data on it that we want to get off.

Can anyone tell me the best way to get these Memo items off the phone onto the computer or anything else? It doesn't appear the phone has Wifi but it seems to have Bluetooth. Not sure if that gets us anything or not but any help would be great.

Even if we have to install the old Blackberry Sync software or something, we just need to get the data onto something on the computer.

Thanks.

If you know the password and have a backup from the Desktop Manager software available from the Blackberry site you will need another piece to read the files.
Search for an IPD. reader and open the files. You will have to manually copy the data but it will be there.

The issue with passwords is simple. If it has one on it and you enter the wrong one multiple times the BB will delete all data. Most do have a password.

We ended up getting it to work by finding a copy of the old 6.x software which still has the ability to save data to a CSV file since that seems to have been removed in the 7.1 version.

Once we did that we got the data that we needed.
