Default Bold $650 retail instore?

Please Login to Remove!

I just called my local AT&T store and asked them about bolds, they said they were instock but it was $650 retail!! WTF he said i could get a $100 rebate if i got the BB connect which i already have...on the site the retail price is $549.99 why is this different? My contract isnt up until febuary but i was trying to get it today. Does this guy just not know what he's talking about or what? Then he tried to sell me an iphone on top of all that.

The $650 sounds like a "no contract" price. You will see this priced at several different tiers depending on contract terms, etc.

Here in Austin they are selling at AT&T stores for $549 with no contract.

Buddy of mine went to Best Buy (All AT&T Stores Sold Out) where they are selling for $649 with no contract. Best Buy price matched it and he was out the door for $576 after tax.

Hope this helps.

Right, the guy told me that if i just wanted to come and buy one it would be $650.00, but the att website shows a $549.99 "no contract" price, and i read posts that some people on here got theirs for $549.99 no contract...

Sounds like you got a butt clown for a CSR at the store. Perhaps he's found a way to divert funds beyond the cost into his own account(s)?

i hate the people that work in AT&T stores, i think they require their employees to be idiots. The guy told me "i'd buy an iphone, it will do everything and MORE than the BOLD!" i was like....ok....

Do I have to unlock Bold after buying a no-contract one?
What is the tax rate charging for Bold?

Like many of you, I paid close to $600 after taxes. One employee made a similar comment about buying an iPhone - I told him that I'd take the advice off an AT&T store employee when hell froze over, then I knelt down, touch the ground and said, "Nope, not yet." The other guy thought it was pretty funny.

Anyway - I am thinking of returning mine in 20 days or so, paying the $20 restocking fee, and buying one on Ebay. I just want to confirm that if I buy one on Ebay that it is covered by AT&T for warranty issues.
