Alexmetal was really overgeneralizing. On GSM, this sort of interference is
far worse on carriers that use 850MHz. There's very little interference caused by 1900MHz. You can verify this by swapping SIM's (assuming you have an 850 GSM carrier and a 1900 GSM carrier in your market) on an unlocked quad band device.
1900 still produces the same interference but I've found that a device has to be literally on top of an unshielded speaker or wire to cause any interference while on 850 you can cause far worse interference at distances of 6 feet or more.

That's just the way it is. You can deal with it, switch to the old device or get a copper box to store the new device in your car.
