Yes, when you upgrade it deactivates your BES. The IT dept will have to reset your activation password and then have you activate again.

I upgraded last night from 4.5.0.52 last night while working on homework. Immediately, I noticed an increase in free memory and snappier interface. I'll be making some UMA calls within the week, so I'll have to report back on that.

If you upgrade on a PC that is connected to your corporate network, Enterprise Activation should automatically start after you have upgraded the device. If you are on a standalone or home PC, and not connected to the corporate network, then you will have to get an EA password sent to you.

I installed the TMO version of 4.5 yesterday. Since then, battery life has gone in the crapper unless I turn WiFi off. Never had this problem with 4.2. Anybody else see this?

Battery life is like before, but uma doesn't accquire itself when I return home, everytime I have to turn the router off/on to get uma.

Curious to now see if the myFaves problem was really a software conflict or just an unsupported program on other carrier's version of the OS. Everyone gave me a different answer (I kept getting the devicenull Java Exception error and the faves icons stayed as refreshing). Will report back tonight.

tones lower sounding then they were on 4.2?

I have been on the 4.5 OS release since it was released overseas and have not had any issues with my UMA not picking up when I get home. You may want to double check your wi-fi settings to see if that is the issue, if not maybe do a battery pull to see if that helps.

My USB port on my curve has died. Is there any other way I would be able to update the OS?

If you have a my.t-mobile.com account, log in, go to the pull down menu for Support>Phone and Device>On the Resources box on the right hand side of the page select SOFTWARE AND UPDATES and you're good to go...just re-enter your mobile # select your phone and the download you want...

Enjoy!

Same issue - seems like BES activation is causing it. Thread discussing this issue here.

2 things - First I am debating if I should update. I am happy with my set up.

Second, since I am an apple user is it possible to take the phone to a T Mobile location and have them update it?

WOW!!! Just updated my TMO BB Curve 8320. I was surprised to see video camera application. I already tested and it was great. Only one issue is that I hope someone can help me... after I saved the video file and sent it to my own gmail address so I can view the video on my computer. After downloading the video file from BB, the Windows media player could not recognize the format. It is 3GP file type. Any suggestions??

Thanks!

Wirelessly posted

I'm gonna have to give this a try when I get home. How is UMA working for those who have updated?

I'm attempting to do the upgrade released by TMO. Unfortunately, I keep receiving the message "No software update is required for your device". I've already downloaded and installed the latest version of DM and the OS. I've uninstalled the DM and OS and then reinstalled. Rebooted. Still same error. Did a battery pull. Same error. Current OS on BB is 4.2.2.180. The OS on my lappy is Vista Basic. Anybody have any idea what the problem could be? Any suggestions?

I think I've made some progress. I was only uninstalling the 4.5 OS and DM. This time I went to control panel and uninstalled the 4.5 OS, DM, AND 4.2.2.180. After uninstalling, I rebooted. Reinstalled DM and 4.5. This time I was prompted to do the upgrade. It appears that it didn't like the fact that the OS 4.2.2.180 was installed. Once I uninstalled that, it recognized the new upgrade. I'm still in the process of the upgrade...I'm hourglassing right now...just waiting patiently.
