Default New Swivel Case for BlackBerry 8100

Please Login to Remove!

I just ordered a brand new swivel case from Gizmo Skin. It's made specially for BlackBerry 8100. I'll post some pics and a review when I get it (hope this week).

FYI - On their site, the picture is L7 but it also stated that it's the same style and look. They'll change the picture soon.

Here is the link.

Regards,
Robert

Does this case have the "sleep magnet" like the SDA case? Not the closure magnet, the one that puts the Blackberry into sleep mode when inserted in the case.

Yes, it does. That case is kinda ugly though... You paid $40 for it? My $12.99 case looks better...

Reading the description on the website says it has a sleeper magnet.

"Perfectly made and custom fit for the Pearl including sleeper magnets (you can place your phone face in or out in this case)"

Wirelessly posted (8700c: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I use one of the pouches for my 8700 on the weekends. I am sure they will make various models. Often can be found on eBay too.

These are definitely nice cases....I have one coming as well. However, historically the belt clips haven't held up well. I have had a few for my old 7100t. I'm hoping these newer ones ones have better clips.

For me anything in my pocket is a no-no. Keys and coins scratch my phone. That's not good in my book!

Use a check/debit card instead of coins and put your keys in the other pocket...

Is it just me, or is anyone else reluctant to order anything from a site with typos/errors:
This case features:

• High quality leather
• Unique Design (no seen anywhere else)
• Magnetic flip-over strap
• Swivel Belt Clip (The ratchet will allow you to wear it in a vertical position)
• Perfectly made and custom fit for the Pearl including sleeper magnets (you can place your phone face in or out in this case)

Default I'd rather just wait.

I think I'm just gonna wait for the Official leather case from BlackBerry to come out. I can live with my T-Mobile leather pouch for a month or so.

I'm using the SDA case now and really not kicked up about the horizontal-ness. not really liking the gizmo one either but RIM's release of the pouch is out to Nov 2 and I can't see if it has the belt clip. any one have any idea? guess I'll just get used to being horizontal.

I am kind of weary of buying a Gizmo Skin case because of all the issues that they had with the 8700 case.

From what I can tell, there is no belt clip. It is just a pouch to slide the phone in.

I'm using the T-Mob $20 case, and if you put the BB in upside down, the magnets on the clasp act as sleeper magnets.

I'm happy with this until BB comes out with an "offical" case.
