.0.1 is working fine on my 8310. No issues with Gmaps or radio (on at&t). .0.37 on my 8110 has no issues except it randomly likes to crash even with 17MB+ of free memory. Oh yah, and both TellMe and iTookThis on my phone instantly crash either one. No problem now that Flickr is out and TellMe is slower than typing anyway. Both on at&t. Was hoping for BIS 2.5 launch Monday-planned service outage for NA tonight. If at&t is holding out that long, it's just to stimulate more demand for the 2nd gen iPhone and then the Bold. Sounds like Bold will hit on the 24th if John is right. If it launches sooner on at&t, I will let you know, since my emails will start rollin' in html style B-)

I never said the Bold would hit on the 24th. However, Kevin at CB says it will launch on the 17th. I only said that OS 4.5 would be made available for their devices on the 24th. It does make sense that the Bold would come out, then OS 4.5 for the other devices, though I have no way of confirming that.

Right-I know you didn't say Bold was coming out on a particular date. I'm just going off experience that at&t doesn't like old products to step on new products' toes . I'm sure Kevin is lookin' forward to a Bold in the "less than 500" category with a PIN that RIM hasn't deactivated, lol. Catch you on the flip side-after this planned service outage. Will let you know if anything is dramatically different.

No planned outages until next weekend, I believe.

Bleh! I thought I had them all in my calendar. There are so many, I missed that one! Thanks!

According to the post about tonights, it's maintenence to BIS 2.4. I don't think 2.5 is coming until next weekend at the earliest.

Hahaha. Riiight. "2.4 maintenance". And the Bold was delayed because of "battery life issues" and the at&t employees can't vacation for awhile starting June 15th because of "Father's Day". Check BB's site for tech support bulletins. The support for 2.5 related stuff is ALL-ReAdy there. Bwahahaha. I recommend that RSS feed for your Viigo, btw. Great way to see into the future. Usually about 2-3 days into the future. :-D Must quit typing now so Fiancee will tolerate me buying 3rd BB this year when Bold launches!

I am not convinced from the maintenance notifications that the needed 2.5 upgrades for the North American servers will occur next weekend (June 14-15) since none of those notices mention upgrading to 2.5.

The notification for AsiaPacifi area for this w/end (June 6-7) did mention specifically server upgrades to 2.5.

Just my opinion, reading the notices and reading into them all I can.

FYI, this doc was out Friday on the BB Technical Solution Center. The html and attachment support I expected, the Hotmail support I did not!

BlackBerry Search Results

Another FYI, at&t BIS site still looks the same this morning....

If you check the 8300 section Sticky Notes here, you will see that Vodacom has released an earlier version of 4.5 for 8310, so I guess AT&T technically won't be first.
The OS version released by Vodacom is the beta 4.5.0.18 for the 8310 that still has the radio drop off problems. I think someone screwed up or jumped the gun in posting that OS on their website. Just my opinion though.

Yeah, nobody is quite sure why they launched that OS....It's technincally official, though.

Will 4.5 be released on June 24th for the 81xx, 83xx and 88xx on AT&T? Or is it just a handful of devices that are getting 4.5. I am concerened as an 8800 user that it may get skipped over since the 8820 is the device of choice in this family today for AT&T.

Don't know for sure. I'm guessing it will be all the 8xxx devices that AT&T currently supports.

Great news!

It seems like AT&T is always slow with every release. They're over cautious. Maybe AT&T has decided to turn over another leaf. One can hope.

I would really like to get my hands on the new Desktop Manager, do you think that will be sooner OR later?

I would think that by the time the bold is released, we should have the next version of DM. As for the OS itself, its probably being delayed to attempt to lock down BBMaps. Which we've found a workaround for. Just my 2 cents.

going forward there wont be an easy way to work around the BBMaps. It will be controlled via service books from the provider.
