To use GPS you need a maps application
like BB maps or google maps.

There is also a free program called GPSLogger that you can use. You can get it at 100% free|pay-what-you-want Software for BlackBerry® Devices with OS 4.2.1 or higher on your phone or 100% free|pay-what-you-want Software for BlackBerry® Devices with OS 4.2.1 or higher on your computer.

Also, it is always best to reset your coordinates (initially). That helps your get set up quicker when you're running any mapping or GPS application.

To do this, you need to go to option - advanced options - GPS. Also, make sure you're outside.

You might want a Sat Nav application, such as Vodafone Sat-Nav which, I think, is powered by Telenav or something. We get 18 month licence free but im not sure about Orange, etc.

Moving to more appropriate forum.

What problem are you having? I do not think there is a comprehensive user guide out there. Look in the GPS & Mapping Forum for more info.

To get a good GPS signal, especially for the first time, you need to make sure location services is turned on, then go outside, with a clear view of the sky and let the device find you. Could take 20 minutes or so to do this.

Using a map application such as GoogleMaps is a good idea since it uses cell tower triangulation to locate you within 1700 to 2500 meters until GPS locks on.

It's pretty simple.

1. Pick a GPS app. See the "All Known GPS Apps" thread stickied at the top of this (GPS) forum.
2. Read up on using the app selected.

You will probably need a BB data plan for most apps (again, see the "All Known GPS Apps" thread).

If you have not yet tried, the blackberry help application could be a good starting point.
Go into Blackberry Maps then Menu, Help or
just go direct to the Blackberry Help Application and surf.
