Default 2 BES Servers and one Exchange server

Please Login to Remove!

I currently have 15 users on a SBE Blackberry Enterprise Server. I just purchased another 20 user BES. Does anyone know if it is possible to run 2 BES servers and point them both to one exchange server?

Thanks!!!!

Absolutely. We have 3 servers pointing to our exchange cluster, no problem whatsoever...

Yes. but can I ask why?

Unless there's a very good reason to have an additional BES server (e.g. DR) it seems very strange if you're going to have a total of 35 users on one exchange server scattered across 2 BES's

So that 2x hardware 2x O/S Licenses in terms of additional cost, as well as the addiitonal overhead of monitoring another box, service packs, updates yada, yada.

Did you know that the SBE BES server can be unlocked to become a full BES, and thus scale up from 15 users to 100/200/500 etc (depending on spec?) If you didn't and haven't broken the shrunk wrap on the new BES s/w,then I sugget you contact the supplier and ask them to take it back and replace it with the unlock code for the SBS upgrade and credit you back the difference.

Not to mention the Added space the BES would take. Seems a little overkill unless you want to use the 2nd BES as a back up which we do to all of our BES.

Just curious.. Isn't like $2K to break the SBS 2003?
