Smile Enterprise Messenger Wireless Push

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

I have configured a software configuration to push the EM wirlessly to devices, my problem is this, since we have numerous models in our enviroment how do i copy the numerous installs to the \\servername\RIM share? i have successfully deployed to 9000, 8310 and 8100 i cannot seem to deploy to the 9500? Does nayone have a step by step on deploying a domain with various device models?

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Thanks

Some software configs vs devices could take up to 4+ hours to deploy.

Can you post the .alx file? Wireless Push doesn't like several versions of the same file on the same application share.

Can you deploy via DM to the 9500?

The problem part in your alx is
Quote:
<directory _appsVersion="[4.1.0,4.2.0)">For_4.1.0</directory>
<directory _appsVersion="[4.2.0,4.6.0)">For_4.2.0</directory>
<directory _appsVersion="[4.6.0,5.1.0)">For_4.6.0</directory>
OTA push can't handle subdirectories. Have a look in the subdirectories, they most probably contain file(s) with the same name (but different versions).

For a test, copy the file(s) from 4.6.0 to the main directory. Then delete all the subfolders and then amend the .alx file so it doesn't refer to directories anymore.

Deploying a software is a bit different from deploying an OS. We can't deploy the handheld OS OTA as our carrier doesn't allow it. So you have to check with your carrier if that works.

Are you aware that there's a different version of the Enterprise Messenger specifically for the BlackBerry Storm?
