Default Removed and Added User - Unable To Update PIN

Please Login to Remove!

Hiya,

I am a new to BES, and had some other problems with a user not being able to reconcile wirelessly. So I tried removing the user and adding the user in BES v3.6.3.

The problem is now I do not know how to update the PIN to get the User to even synch wirelessly now. i.e., user is not receiving emails. The user is using a 7280 and I guess we would need to attempt another Enterprise Activation.

Any help would certainly be appreciated.
TIA!

For the BES 3.6, there is no "wireless" enterprise activation. If you remove a user from the server and add them back, you have to connect the handheld via USB at the workstation or the server to get him back up and running.

I tried several times to synch with her workstation, and kept getting the message that the server does not support wireless synchronization.

On the server, wireless synch is enabled and the other 4 users are not having a problem.

Are you talking about the wireless calendar?

Since you have users that are working, this should be pretty easy for you to fix. Once you have assigned the device to the user either via the BlackBerry server manager software or the desktop manager, the user should automatically be able to send and receive messages from the device. If you are having trouble, see if the user can send but not receive or vice versa, or neither. If the user can send but not receive, have the user send a message to themselves and see if it is delivered into the mailbox. If you use Outlook, make sure that the Outlook or the mail client is not delivering to an offline file or PST. If the user is not able to send but is receiving, make sure the BES Service acccount has appropriate rights for the user's mailbox. Also, you can try to delete the Desktop (CICAL) service book and resync with the workstation.
If you can't send or receive, check if the wireless calendaring is working...if not, you may have some type of corruption with the mailbox.

Try generating a new encryption key.

Wierd thing is that I deleted me as a user, and added me, synched on my desktop, and everything worked perfectly. I have a 7100g, though.

I will try generating a new encryption key.

Thanks for the responses. I was able to connect the Blackberry to the server and the PIN was updated that way.

Strange why it would not update when synching with the workstation. To troubleshoot, with my 7100g, I removed myself as a user on BES, added me, and resynched on my workstation. My PIN was updated on the BES smoothly. This did not occur with my user's 7280, until I connected it with the server.

BTW, if needed, is there anyway to load all new emails in the outlook inbox after doing this. i.e., after a kill and no emails are on the Blackberry, how to get all them emails onto the unit, in addition to any new ones sent after the kill?

Running the Enterprise Activation for a new user should generally populate the handheld with email from the last 7 days, along with all Contacts, Calendar, Notes and Tasks. Didn't yours do this?

The BBHH (BlackBerry handheld) is configured by default (well, those configured through our BES) to retain email back 30 days, and then start dropping it off the device...
