I too was skeptical thinking this was a hardware issue but after dealing repeatedly with Bell and getting nowhere I decided to follow the suggestion of another Torch user who had a similar issue and as I said earlier everything was fine after I reloaded the OS.

It's definitely not normal - if you got it within the past month ask for a replacement device (not battery). Good luck - let us know how it works out.

What version OS are you using? I had a similar problem (battery didn't even last a day with light use), but I just updated to the latest version (http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...0-0-337-a.html) yesterday and the battery life is markedly improved - in fact I haven't charged my Torch for more than 24 hours now and there's still over 50% battery left with moderate use...=)

My BB software is version 6.0.0.246 ... but whren I tell the device to check for updates ... its says Ive got the latest version.

Yeah that happened to me too... Just follow the link in my prior post and it will take you to a thread providing instructions on how to update your OS manually. The process is relatively simple and painless but could take up to an hour or so...
