I have a BB Bold 9700 and it randomly turned off. I tried done a battery pull and it started but I kept the charger on. When I took the charger off it immediately turned off. I have left the charger on for around 6 hours. I took it off and put it back in and the red LED light shows up. Also frequently it shows a battery sign halfway full in black with 1 line across it.

My question is: how can I turn my BB back on to normal and if I would need to keep the charger on permanently in order to use it.

Sounds like a bad battery. Did you drop it or get it wet?

If no, try a new battery. Make sure that it is a good one and not a cheap knock off like you see on eBay and elsewhere. And don't let it run down below 20% on a regular basis.

Actually, about 1-2 months ago I kept my Blackberry in my bag and it was raining, and the rain got through the bag and in the Blackberry, but now it's in perfect condition until this incident.

So do you think I should buy a new battery?
