OS 1.0.3.1868 Making The Rounds

It appears that PlayBook OS 1.0.3.1868 is starting to show up, and for more than one person this time!  No idea what's new at this point, but word on the street is video chat is the big addition.
Anyway... should be out to everyone within the next 24 hours or so because, as with other updates, this one is only available for a limited number of people at a time.

- Document Editing via BlackBerry Bridge
- Home Screen Browser Bookmarks
Hm... I wonder what BBM Support means when I already have BBM running on OS 1.0.1.1710?

Ian, do you mean you have been able to use BBM on the PlayBook since .1710 was released? I thought the updated Bridge just appeared today along with a new BBM version, both for the handhelds....

No. I applied the BBM and Bridge updates to my 9700 today, and only now I can use BBM on the PlayBook. However, the 1.0.3.1868 OS update for the PlayBook mentions enabling BBM on the PlayBook. Well, if BBM is already working...

I powered down, ran Desktop Manager, booted up and it flashed "rebbot your device to update it"
I rebooted and it is installing an OS.... I'm hoping it is 1.0.3
... eeeeeep
So I dunno if this is bad, but I think DM assumes I have a bricked device.... that's bad cause I think that's a wipe...
downloading... "com.qnx.cores.qcfm.os.debrick"
I can only hope it is 1.0.3, then I wouldnt care much about a wipe...
Yeah it just wiped it thinking it was bricked... meh no biggie for me at least

The update must still be rolling out. I got up this morning and there was no notification that an update was available. I manually checked and the update appeared. Downloaded and installed.

This update fixed the failure logging in to websites with the bridge browser. Posting this from PlayBook with bridge browser. Very, very slow, however; but that may be me.

Installed this morning all seems well
2 things I have noticed on the downside
battery life gets depleted quite quickly minumum use and already at 70% in under 4 hours
BBM shows a 1 beside bbm icon but when tapped says no new notifications for bbm
Yet to try video chat

Are you saying your "Bridge Files" are actually showing files?
I've applied all updates and rebooted, everything is working (BBM, Video Chat etc) but Bridge files still do not show any files from my Torch (even though I know there are pictures, MP3's there) |
