Default YouMail Visual Voicemail Plus Freezing?

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys,

What's up? I've got a Blackberry Bold w/AT&T, and for whatever reason, my YouMail Visual VM freezes literally every time I use it! I've tried reinstalling it, but to no avail (though I haven't tried uninstalling it before reinstalling it). It's amazingly annoying - whenever I go to the application and click on a voicemail, it just sits there. It'll OCCASSIONALLY go to the actual message, but more often than not, it just stays on the screen that lists all the messages, without even letting me scroll to the other ones. I can use the Application Switcher to leave and do something else, but it won't let me go back to the YouMail without me resetting. And even after I reset, it still doesn't always work.

Any ideas?

No help I know, but mine actually works well on my storm. However I noticed sometimes when I softreset my storm it doesn't recognize the network (so I don't get any messages etc.) and I need to turn wireless off and back on again.

When this happens my youmail freezes as well, I'm assuming because it doesn't have the bandwidth to download the message.

Again this doesn't answer your question but it's just something I noticed. Maybe a bug with the bold? What version are you running?

The latest version is 0.95.6 I believe. Make sure you are updated.

0.95.7 is the latest version. I was prompted to make this "mandatory upgrade" to this version when I had to re enter my pword. (a result of loading .122 'beta').

Weird the app store still has 0.95.6.0 and so do I. The program is not asking me to upgrade.

Very Strange.......

0.9.5.7 completely locked me up, and eventually the app failed.

I just removed it this morning, going back to VyMail.

0.9.5.6 was working just fine - I got the REQUIRED upgrade notice this morning, too.

Exactly! My 9.5.6 was working fantastic, but I did the REQUIRED UPGRADE yesterday, and it's been terrible ever since. I've uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times, to no avail. The application barely works at all - it looks like it's saving the voicemails still, but I can never open the applications. Whenever it does open, it runs DREADFULLY slow. I'ma call their tech support and see if I can download the old version....otherwise, it's wrap for this program

My 8320 Curve also started freezing when I installed 0.95.7. I read here that the app store still had the older version (0.95.6) posted so I downloaded that one and everything is fine now. I'm ignoring the upgrade messages until they have a better build.

Same here 96 was working great, 97 is very slow, if you let it open. I emailed them so hopefully I will get a responce.

They're heading in the right direction, but I keep reverting right back to VyMail.

Finally got .97. I agree it is slower but it doesn't freeze on me. Although I haven't tried it with any messages longer then 30 seconds. I'll play around more and see what happens.

Weird. I haven't noticed a slow down w/ .97 on my bold still working fine. Going into the greetings/settings has always caused a hang for me though(5-10 secs+).

How much free space[application memory] do you have?

Have you set the voicemail to download to storage and not app memory?

I'm also running .234 as well.

They are aware of the issue and should have a fix by the end of the week.

Don't upgrade if you don't have to, Now it doesn't work at all.

Yeah - back to VyMail for me. YouMail client was getting close with 0.95.6.

0.95.7 ran extremely slow on my Bold, and 0.95.8 would not download my Inbox at all.

Really need to have the app update the voicemail icon properly.

I will keep lurking for a new build from YouMail

Ver 0.95.9 solved all my problems. Seems to be stable for me now.
