Well i tried searchin for a similar issue but dint find any thing useful..

here's my prob:
i have 8520 build 5.0.0.592
i recd an sms from a no with a red exclamation mark.
when i tried to reply to tht i got the foll msg:
"Requested facility not implemented"

what can be the issue??

Please do not use text message speak. Makes your post too hard to read and decipher. Please translate into readable English. You will get a better response as well.

Like you were asked, type in full complete sentences.

if you want to say number, type number instead of "no"

if you want to say have, type have not "hv"

if you want to say friend, type friend not "frnd"

if you wish to keep typing like that, no one will answer.

ok..i will re-state my problem

carrier: vodafone India (mumbai)
Model info and OS version: v5.0.0.592 (Bundle 1096, Platform 5.2.0.64)

Issue: I received an sms from my friend which had an exclamation mark. When i tried to reply it gave me the following message "Requested facility not implemented" & i could not reply. (i have attached the screenshot..i have erased the text as it was personal message)

Also i asked my friend did he set any priority, he said no as he had a basic nokia handset.

So i want to know two things:
1. What can be the problem here?? Why am i not able to reply to the message?

2. how is it possible to receive an sms with red exclamation (i understand that red exclamation means high priority)

I have attached two screenshots to make the issue clearer.
First one is while sending the message & second one is of the response that i got.

Yes i tried the battery pull as well..
But that did not help..

I tried to search on my issue. This is what i found
SMS Error: Requested facility not implemented

This is what is suggested in this forum:
Options/SMS/Network to Send Over: GSM

But i dont see GSM as the option under "Network to Send Over"
I have these 4 options:
1. Circuit Switched
2. Circuit Switched Preferred
3. Packet Switched Preferred
4. Packet Switched

Will this help?

I would say put it to "circuit switched" if its not already.
Packet would suggest packet data.

Hi..by default it is circuit switched. I did not change to any other option.
The thing is this is happening with only one particular number. For all other cell numbers i am able to send & receive sms.
With only one particular number (my friend's number) whenever i receive the sms it comes with the exclamation mark & i get that message "Requested facility not implemented" when i reply.
