Default BES purchase from EBay

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

New to the BES world and have been using the 90 day trial version with great success and increased productivity. Problem is my trial runs out shortly and I need to licence it properly. It is a $5K buy in from my carrier but I see on EBay I can purchase with more licences for about $1K. We are a smaller company without large budgets so saving the money means I can put it towards other projects.

My question is has anybody purchased theirs on EBay and if so has it been successful or issues validating the server.

Thanks for all responses.

D.

Maybe I'm everly paranoid, but I would be very wary of purchasing any kind on licensed software on eBay, especially one where the key is tranmitted to a central server. How do you know that it has been properly de-registered?

You should verify that they are authorized to be re-selling the BES software. All software license agreements should have language that states whether or not the contract and license can be transferred or assigned to another party. Unless they are an authorized reseller, I'm guessing that the seller licensed the BES with a standard license agreement, which most likely grants a software license that is non-transferable.

The short of it is, unless they are a authorized reseller, i would not do this.

You're not overly paranoid. I would be highly unlikely to ever buy licenses from eBay...
