Default Will AT&T credit me for the new 8310 sale price?

Please Login to Remove!

I bought an 8310 a few weeks ago for $199 with a new 2 year contract (I was already an AT&T customer). Will AT&T credit me the difference for the sale they are having?

I guess worse case is I can return the one I bought and buy a new one at the sale price but I don't want to deal with that hassle. Or is the sale price only for new customers and does not include upgrades?

Most stores will not pricematch to Black Friday prices. That price is a reward for people who are willing to forgo such luxuries as sleep, warmth and relaxing on a holiday to wait in line.

Additionally the Black Friday price is for new activations, not upgrades. So if you need to add a line it should be available to you. Otherwise, just enjoy your new Curve.

Bummer. I hope you are wrong but probably not. That seems to be how these deals usually work.

Ditto. Nothing stopping you from returning the $199 phone and buying the $99 phone. You are simply playing by their rules.

That $99 price was enough to push me over the edge and convince me to buy one today. I had a Pearl, but the full qwerty of the Curve was too tempting.

I ordered my curve online on Tuesday, I just called CS and the rep told me that crediting my account would only have worked if I had purchased in a retail location. Not sure how true that was, but I didn't feel like pursuing it any further.

Return it and get it in the store.

telling you that "if you had bought at a retail store..." is infringing on illegal price discrimination, as long as you are within the 30 days of course. I would definitely return the phone, and order a new one asap, to me 50% off is worth a lil hassle, and a week newer phone (LOL!)

good luck

get bbb.org involved if they get pissy, and mention them too if need be!

I went back to the AT&T store where I originally bought the phone last night and they honored the sale price. They gave me a $100 credit to my account which will be used up next month since my monthly bill is about $115.

It was really no hassle at all which surprised me a little. If anybody else bought an 8310 in the last 30 days you should be able get the credit regardless if you were a new or existing customer, as long as you signed up for a 2 year contract.

Since I bought my 8310 from an authorized agent instead of a corporate store...my local corp store said they couldn't give me the credit today. And, since the deal was only good online or at a corporate store...my agent store couldn't help me either.

No big deal, since I am very happy with my current phone. And...I guess not having to reload apps, wallpapers, ringtones...or mess with personal setup again is worth $99. At least, that's what I keep telling myself anyway...
