Default Mystery notfication icon

Please Login to Remove!

I have searched here and elsewhere and found no reference to it anywhere so I'll try asking. On my screen, to the left of the time, halfway to the edge of the screen, is an icon that I can't identify. It is round, looks like a Blackberry logo with only 4 white dots instead of the usual 7, and has the red spot that one typically sees over any icon informing of new notifications. There is a 2 just left of it which would lead me to believe that whatever it is refering to, there are 2 of them. Strike a chord with anyone?

I'm new to the Blackberry so this may be a very common icon, but I can't find any info on it. maybe I'm just not using the right search terms.

Thanks in advance,
Keith

Almost forgot, it's a 9300 and the OS version says v5.0.0.955 (Bundle 1575, Platform 6.3.0.57)

You have update notifications in BlackBerry App World.

I was thinking that it probably related to app world, it most closely resembles that icon, but I can't find anything in app world that seems to pertain to it nor a way to make the notification go away.

If you open App World, and check 'My World' , click on the top 'Installed' and change it to 'Upgrades' You can also open app world and type Alt+rst, app world should close, and when you open it again, check the 'Installed' tab again. You may have an update waiting.

I tried your suggestion yesterday and while it didn't prompt any change last night, the notification was simply gone this morning. Interesting.

Sometimes that's all it takes.
