Default So, how many will replace their 8800 with the 8300?

Please Login to Remove!

Looks like another nice Blackberry. To me the keyboard looks a little more friendly even though I am quite used to the 8800! Hmm, a camera.

I'm quite happy with my 7130g, but I was considering the 8800 until I saw the 8300... So the 7130g will be retired for the 8300 when its released

was going to return the 8800 and wait a couple of months or however long until the 8300 comes out. but after looking at the side by side photos from the BGR, I'm going to stick to my 8800. it looks sleeker and more professional looking. and I def. don't like the silver front casing, although it does look more comfortable to hold in hand while typing.

The keyboard could push me over the edge to get it. The fact that it's a little shorter is another plus. I don't really like the colors though. The 8800 is definitely nicer looking. And I don't like the different battery cover.

Oh, who am I kidding... I'll be getting one...ha ha

I think i am going to keep my 8800 and pass on the 8300. At this point, every time a new BB is released, a "new" one is right around the corner. This is a vicious cycle that could cost tons of money for me. Don't get me wrong, I love having the newest device at all times, but the 8300 just doesnt do it for me. Now if the 8300 was half the width and all black, it would be mine asap.

I'm with you Sparkomatic. I'm not terribly taken by the color scheme of the 8300. I think the 8800 looks more professional, more like a business tool. But if the keyboard is as good as reviewers say it is, I'll likely get one. Typing long emails can get cumbersome with the 8800's keyboard.

My wife thinks I'm crazy, but I'm getting that 8300 even though I've only had the 8800 for about a month now. I really like the look of the 8300 better.

I will not move on it unless I read a decent number of unbiased reviews in the forum. I also would look for enthusiastic posts. In my experience with devices, anything new that comes out and doesn't garner a lot of feedback is usually not worth the upgrade.

I have to try it. The keyboard looks good.

I also can't help myself!

I have my local corp store trained to call me the second a new phone is delivered.

The keyboard looks better on the next unit, But the phone is fatter- not worth it to me. Also, No 3G = no reason to upgrade...

That's a good point, the $$ spent trying to have the latest. I started out w/a sidekick, then the bb 7105t, back to a newer sidekick, then the nokia 8801, back the bb, then bought the treo 680, got an 8700g for the meantime because I'm waiting to get my hands on unlocked 8800. Now I see the 8830, I'm not to impressed. The 8800 has a much sleeker, professional look to it. Can't wait to get it..

Wirelessly posted (8700c: BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

No GPS=No Replacement - Now that's a surprise.

alib21,

Where did you see the BB 8830? Is that a typo? Did you mean the BB 8300?

If you did see it, can you be more specific as to why you weren't impressed? Thanks.

CarBob
