Hope someone can help. Here's the full story: Purchased AT&T branded BB 9800 in 12/2010 as my int'l travel phone. I unlocked the phone and used it without a problem for a couple of weeks in the USA on AT&T and then on the Orange network in the Dominican Republic. After that I went to Mexico for 4 months and the Telcel agency told me that the phone needed to be programmed with their network in order to work. A day or two later, I got my phone back from Telcel and used it without a problem for the time I was in Mexico.

Now I'm back in the USA and the phone refuses to recognize my new AT&T SIM card. It still recognizes the Telcel SIM and even the Orange SIM. When I put in the AT&T SIM in a different phone, it works fine and I can make incoming/outgoing calls, txt messages and data use. But it refuses to work in the BB Torch.

unless they re-locked the phone which might be possible for a carrier you should check to see if it's still unlocked. If not thats your answer.

Perhaps they flashed their own firmware onto it, like MetroPCS or Kricket does.
