I just hit the phone button to answer a call. The screen went blank and it rebooted. Upon reboot I simply get the message "JVM error 102" and then if I touch the trackball it resets. So now it appears I have a corrupted cod file if my forum searches are correct. If I use JM Loder to wipe the device, what do I do next, try and reinstall the OS from the original Tmo data? Or should I just take it back to Tmo and get another one?

I've had and fixed this on a 7100i. Simply using the Application Loader won't work, you have to use the JL_CMDER application some guy here made and wipe the handheld with it completely. Then once it's wiped, you can reload the software using the Application Loader. It takes about an hour total but it works.

Use JL_CMDR (or Javaloader) to wipe it out. I hope you had a backup.

Download the latest firmware (from Rogers - at least I always use the latest if I have to reload an OS). Install that software.

Locate and delete VENDOR.XML from your PC C: drive

Restart Desktop Manager with the BB connected; it should reload the OS.

I figured out it out just about the time you guys posted. Thanks for the help! I have it back up and running. I back up about every 3 days at most so I am only behind 4 days. I haven't seen any other 8100 with this same error. It sucks that I am the first.

I did the Rogers update while I was at it. Definitely like the changes better to. I edited the .alx file to open up all the themes as well. Some pretty cool ones in there as already mentioned.

For those who get the 102 error using a 7100i, this is a hardware issuse. Call CS and they are sending out units with the replaced chip in it. THey at least around here in austin are saying there is nothing they can do over the phone,and the unit needs to be replaced.

Help... a relative of mines just got a 8700 T-Mobile. just today he was reading his email and deleting or something so he says. then pow...device reset and he gets this JVM Error 102 and now his new 8700 is well... a nice paper weight.

I'm not familier with javaloader.. or how to use it. any advice on how to use it to wipe the device.

I already told him to download his device OS from T-Moble now we just need to figure out how to wipe his unit.

So I have an angry 7520 that had the 102 error problem and I used javaloader to try to wipe it and it would connect then say disconnected and now I have a picture on the screen that is a rectangle with 3 shapes (circle, square, triangle) in it and over that it has a circle with a line through it. and it has a 507 under the picture...what does it mean?
