Default Voice Mail messages

Please Login to Remove!

When I get a voice mail, in addition to the icon showing, I get a notification of a message along with my email messages. Is there a way to set up so that the voice mail doesn't show in the email message list? (I don't mean the call log, I mean it shows up along with my email messages in a list).

The other issue with voice mail....my old Nokia had a way to clear the icon if on occasion it wouldn't clear when I deleted a voice mail. I now have a voice mail icon staying on the phone, and I can't see how to get rid of it despite no voice mails in my mailbox. Is there a method to clear the icon? thanks.

John

Wirelessly posted (8130 Curve)

John,

Goto your call log - BB key - options - call logging and select none. Hope this helps.

For the clearing of the icon:
http://blackberryfaq.com/wiki/index.php/How do I reset my message counter to clear, or zero?

For the stopping of it showing as a test/email message:
Press your send key (Or get to the phone app) - Press Your berry/menu button - Options - general options - call logging - none

-Edit-
I always get beat when I add in links!

It looks like it was at NONE, but I'll check. It seems like calling my bb, leaving a voice mail, and then deleting, is worth a try. And then a reset. thanks.

If it was already set at none I'll keep searching to see if maybe it was another option lol...
Pulling the battery is the answer to 90% of blackberry problems these days.. maybe a battery pull would solve the message coming in as well... lol

I've had my Call Logging set to None and it stopped the messages I got from actual calls, but it still shows Voicemails.

I'm not sure you can disable that.

See, and I don't get that...
I get a little pop up that says something about having a voice mail.. but it's not in my messages folder or anything lol. It's the same pop up that comes up when you miss a call for me...
(I just send myself a voicemail haha)

I just called my phone and left a voicemail.

These are the screens I see:

This one actually has the blinking thing on the SMS messages but I already scrolled over it so it disappeared. You can see 2 icons showing though. One for the voicemail and one for the SMS notifying me of the voicemail.

This is what I see when I click on the SMS button.

This is when I click on the actual voicemail listed.

This is the menu I get if I click on the voicemail listed again.

Ok, here is what mine looks like...
You can see the voice mail indicator on the top left..
And the little box on the screen is the only other notice I get of a voicemail...

I'm not sure if this is a model difference or not, seeing as I have an 8100 and you guys have 8130s

I think I stopped it showing in the messages, but that icon persists depsite a reset. Not worth messing with the OS but wierd that it won't go away.
