Question Maybe I have the wrong phone!

Please Login to Remove!

Hi guys, I Have an 8100 I use to keep my dates and contacts. Don't need internet service, my laptop does that more simply. I can't sync with outlook and no one has a suggestion how to fix it. Can anyone advise how to sync without the internet connection or advise what type of phone I need other than the pearl, I'm scared to loose all my information. Thanks Lance

What version of Outlook at you using?

The BB can sync with Outlook without a data plan.

You need DM 4.2 Service Pack 2 to sync to Outlook 2000.

Take a look here:
I am unable to select MS Outlook 2000 for syncing - BlackBerryFAQ

What version of Desktop Manager do you have installed?

From within Desktop Manager, click Help > About BB Desktop Manager. What version is listed?

That's your issue.

Uninstall DM 4.3 and download and install DM 4.2 SP2.

You can download the correct version here:

No, the device OS is irrelevant to this issue.

If you should upgrade is completely up to you. It's a preference thing.

You can find what OS you're currently running by going to Options > About. It will be the 3rd line down.

Let's work on getting your device synchronizing with Outlook first. Once we've accomplished that, then we will discuss the possibility of upgrading your device OS.
