What kind of movie format does the PB recognize? Most of the movies I have on my MAC are MKV 1080p movies. I have tried transfer some of them to my PB but the wont show in my videos. They are virtually there but the wont show. I was told to convert them to MP4 format. I have done that but they would loose resolution. Does anyone know of any good video converter with HD out comes?

Cheers

RIM has an article up on that topic: http://docs.blackberry.com/en/smartp..._(English).pdf

I use XenonMKV for my mkv's. No picture quality loss, just converts the audio to stereo aac and container to MP4. It's very quick - takes longer to copy the files to the Playbook.

The OP is using a MacOSX. XenonMKV will not work for him.
I dont know if handbrake is able to do a reprocessing of the moviecontainer from mkv to mp4 with reencoding of the audio, but I would try that first.

I doubt, if it is really worth the effort to do that time consuming task, because alone the uploading of a hi-definition video takes ages, add the reprocessing time or time for reencoding.

The fastest way for me is do a quick search on usenet for the title, and dowload an SD version with AVI as the container. Does not make a big difference on the small 7" screen.
Note: the PB does not support AVI with AC3 as the audio track. It will playback, but silent.
