Don't know the charging requirements of the ipod would have to check on that

Probably be okay but that is a chance you are taking. I will take an outside guess and say you are probably okay

The only thing I see on the specs is that the BB uses .5amps to charge and the iPod uses 1 amp.....

If my guess is correct, you can use the BB at .5 on the iPod but I am not sure what the wide base does...as it uses 1 amp.....I am not sure how the trasformer works over the BB USB.

It will just take the ipod longer to charge

The chrging circuit within the phone or ipod will actually control the current flow

I just came back from a business trip and the iPod battery was out.....and when it is attached to my computer the iPod light stays on.....

Obviously I never go anywhere without my BB 8300, so if the iPod charges slower that is OK as it can last for 20+ hours.....

My Blackberry needs to be charged daily....

I charge all of my ipods and BB's off the same chargers. Some will just charge slower than others. It all works off USB cords and there's no way that anyone could tell me that every USB port from all computers put out the same amps/watts whatever. 99% of phones, ipods, whatever will control the input from the charger. Some will just charge slower or faster than others. I know that motorola products only like to be charged off of computers or motorola branded chargers. Something written into the code won't allow them to be charged off generic usb chargers.

Hmmm I have had numerous motos in the past with no issues using generic chargers.

Never really saw a point in carrying an ipod but thats just me. Yes the same charger will work, USB is USB and the device will draw the current it needs (as long as the adapter can handle the current you are fine) you start to damage a unit when you go over in voltage.

I don't understand how you want to do this. I have an 8320 and I cannot figure any way to plug my iPod cord into my BB charger. Am I missing something here? If anyone could, I would appreciate a little more explanation.

He has some sort of USB wall charger or one you would use in a car. The ones that you plug into wall and it provides a space to plug in any USB cord. Therefore you can plug in any ipod sync/charging cable or straight mini usb to usb cable that you would normally plug an BB into.

I never realized it until sometime just recently. One of my boys wanted me to charge his razr while we watched a UFC fight. I plugged it into the same charger that I normally plug my BB into and no dice. I moved it to another BB charger and still nothing. I then plugged it into my computer and it charged no problem. I bought a branded AT&T OEM Blackberry 8310 car charger. When I opened the package, the charger had a MOT sticker on it and it plugged in fine, but didn't charge. The person who sold it to me said RAZR and Curve have same charger. Evendentally not, since the RAZR charger doesn't work on my Curve.

All USB's aren't the same pinout. Or something weird is going on...???

Simple info about USB standard puts to rest a lot of questions about different charging devices. This kind of info should be in FAQ!
