I have a macbook pro and a 7130e on the verzion network. I know there has been a lot of talk on this subject, but how can I use this device on a tethered modem on a mac? Is there a way to do it without booting into windows?

No there are no scripts or drivers for the Mac to do so, just PC.

I find it ironic that with every other smartphone/pda I've owned before the blackberry, Verizon told me I could not tether it to my G4. The V710, the 650, the Q, they all BT tethered just fine. When I got the BB, I was told "You know you can use this to get on the internet with you laptop?" "yea?" "Yea"... well, no. not really. No BT tethering.

There is no BT tethering for any BB on any platform. So whoever told you that was incorrect, misinformed, or lying.
