I've found an easier work around for the ghost SMS messages than pulling the battery or reseting your BlackBerry.

After having the ghost SMS on your homescreen, go to MENU>SMS MESSAGES. Then scroll to the message that is stuck on your homescreen and click the trackwheel then click MARK AS OPEN. Then click the trackwheel again and click MARK AS READ.

The ghost message should no longer show on your homescreen.

Just tried that... works great. Thanks for the heads up!

The ghost SMS message problem with Vodafone Today on Rogers is really unfortunate because Rogers sends a special form of SMS notification for voicemails which autodeletes as soon as you have checked your messages. If you use the handy top voicemail icon to check your voicemail, you get stuck with the ghost SMS and have to pull the battery. The solution is to enter the voicemail SMS from the homescreen and click to call voicemail from there. But it destroys one of the nicest features of that theme.

As an extension to this question, is there a thread that has instructions on Zen and modifying, etc.? I don't know that I was successful with my upgrade. I know I have Telstra correctly installed, and I can see and use Jibi's additional Today Themes (Dimension & Vodaphone). But I don't see a Zen Theme, and I don't see how to change the backgrounds. I'm sure there's a thread with it, but searching Zen Theme is a little too global to find the answer. Suggestions?

You know, after thinking about my post above (and receiving an email from Marc - thanks!), I realized I'm an idiot [me and Phil Mikelson]. I do know how to do the above, I just didn't remember because it wasn't something I "was" doing regularly. For those that are still in the dark...

1) Dimension Zen is the Zen Theme. That one does allow you to modify order of applications, etc.

2) Millions of great images available here, or on Seattle18's site (and others). Download an image and email it to yourself.

3) On your BB, save that image to your Pictures.

4) In pictures, select that image, click the trackwheel and select "Set as Home Screen Image".

Done. I'm back to being an idiot...

Default Ghost SMS

This ghost sms problem we're experiencing. . . is this just a bug that will be fixed later, or is it because we're running the theme and the telstra OS on different hardware than intended ? It's a real pain when I've deleted the message and THEN notice that it's still on my today screen.

Default all email function lost with today theme- help

Hey,
Please help me out. I am with Rogers in Canada and installed the TELSTRA track perfectly and all installed without a problem (using TODAY theme).
I have the phone working and Rogers and EDGE on the screen. I can no longer receive email messages, and I receive a message titled "no message services configured. You will only be able to save draft" when I try to compose.
I have tried ALT CAP DEL and removing the battery and neither works, I also used Options/Advanced Options/Host Routing Table, click track wheel then select register now, and get a reply that states "your handheld has been registered with the wireless network.
Please help!
Thanks in advance,
Martin

Try logging into your blackberry page (where you set up your email accounts) and have it re-send your service books. That will clear up your problems.

Default Question for Jibi

Dimension Today has two bugs - one, just really sluggish compared to other themes, two - clicking on profiles (at the bottom) works only if you are in the Normal profile, does not do anything with any other profie. Any thoughts on how one could get rid of these two bugs?

Hi,

I've a problem. When I try to download the over OTA file for the vodafone today theme on my blackberry, the download start and then hang after something like 10 or 20%. Each time I try I have the same problem.

I try to put the file on another server and got the same problem.

Any ideas?

Is there any other simple solution to install it without OTA?

Thanks for your help.

Julien

The second bug is an interesting one because in the Beta version it wasn't there, i.e. clicking on the icon worked in all profiles. (Otherwise the official release did improve on the Beta.) Nothing you can do to address the bugs except wait for the next release
