So I upgraded to the 4.2 but now I can only use certain themes with 4.2 and not the older ones I had like the "Wave Icon" ETc.

is there any reason why? there is no activate option

and If I try to goto the blackberry website, it says that themes are currently not supported for this software version...

what gives?

Well, as the message says, and a search would tell you, the old themes do not work with the new software code line.
Only theme builder made themes will work, although there are some issues that can crop up.

i had the same problem as the topic creator. i found some good themes by searching around. im still now sure if i should be looking for 4.2 themes or 8100 themes even though im on a 8700g.

You can look for anything you want, nothing but the 8700 4.1 "theme builder made themes will work, although there are some issues that can crop up."
