Found it quite easily. Worth the install?

I have 46Mb of free memory currently with .217. Haven't had it on long enough to see if the battery drainage has been fixed yet.

.217 is built more solid than .210. Glitches in this build should affect less than 1% in comparisson to other betas. If not sure, wait for 224. It should not take much longer.

Installed this afternoon. Seems to be working fine. But then again with all the recent updates, I really don't remember one from the other.

Default ? .217 more 'solid' than .210

Could you offer examples of what seems more solid.
It seems .21x has been contradictory as user experiences go.
This last flurry of beta access is quite unusual to me. Certainly there will be incremental advances as an OS matures but at some point a Sweet build gets through even if it's not released by carriers. Currently .210 is as good as I've seen -

.217 does appear more stable - at least on my Bold. I am experiencing far less power drain than on .216 and I have had essentially no memory leak at all. Seems to hold 3G signal better and no pesky system busy clock. No resets so far - but that really only happened to me once on .216. The picture thumbnails load fast. So far, I like .217.

Wirelessly posted (BOLD)

But does word wrap work and can you change font size in the browser. Any other fixes seem not worth it at this point

Sorry - I'm not familiar with those issues. I went into the browser, opened General Properties page and set the default font size to 14 - the page reloaded and the fonts were huge. Is that what you're asking about? What's the word wrap issue?

.210 is very good but .217 is better if you abstract small glitches that many of users don't particularly care for. Example: many improvements to the browser, including speed. It might have been compromised with radio reception in some areas, hence battery leakage or restarts. Again, it is very dependable on your carrier but overall, important improvements have been made. While 210 tested well, 217 outperformed it - sorry. However, whatever works for each individual go for it as it is subjective to many variables beside the carier.

When you type in the reply box it is one single line. You can't see what you typed before.
The reply box on this site is a small rectangular box
When you try to increase the size of the fonts in the browser in a website it does not work
It also keeps going back page view.
You got to enlarge most web sites to read them unless you have a magnifying glass then you got to scroll left to right.
This was not a problem with a curve

Well I guess I should upgrade to .217. Has anyone tried upgrading in Parallels or Fusion for mac?

Having no problems with this release. Can't really spot any differences from the previous versions.

I had reboots with 210. So far, after 2 days with 217, no reboots. Seems very stable. Still have memory leak-- after reboot had 52 megs; stablized for a while at 40 megs but now has dropped down to 30 megs.

Upgraded from 216 to 217. No issue, smooth upgrade. I'm using WMware Fusion on Mac (10.5.6). Been doing so from day 1, never any issues. I always use "loader.exe" instead of DM. It's a lot quicker and more reliable.

Experience with 217 has been good.

Default .217 improvements

Does anyone have experience with improvements over .210 ?
While Browser speed may (or not) have marginally improved with .217 , I do not consider "battery leakage", "radio reception" , and "restarts" as small glitches.
Have not tested .224 (except bogus file) but I hope future builds will improve radio reception and in particular the radio switching AT&T has been kind enough to manage for me (us). Whether the Browser will ever be substantially improved in 4.6 is questionable . I'm not looking to be convinced to update nor a subjective preference for a particular build. I appreciate "better" and "tested" , but are often meaningless without qualifications. Will .224 be the next sweet build ? Will .217 be anything.

Without trying 217 I went from 216 back to 210 because I found my batter lasts longer and everything works, I haven't had any crashes or problems with memory leaking.

I also did a complete wipe of my phone and EA sync afterwards with my BES 4.1.6.26 server, so I am sure some of you who have BIS and are doing do backup and restores may experience 210 differently than me, who knows!
